Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan metakognitif siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VII di kecamatan Galis kabupaten Pamekasan. Penelitian merupakan penelitian mix method dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian sequential exsplanatory design yang bersifat dominan-less dominant. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes, angket, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata keterampilan metakognitif di kecamatan Galis berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 52%. Siswa yang memiliki keterampilan metakognitif sedang memenuhi indikator keterampilan metakognitif pada tahap procedural knowledge, planning, comprehension monitoring, debugging strategies, dan Evaluation, tetapi belum sepenuhnya memenuhi indikator keterampilan metakognitif pada tahap declarative knowledge, conditional knowledge, dan informasi management strategies. AbstractionThis study aims to determine the student’s metacognitive skill in natural sciences class of seven grade in the Galis sub-district of Pamekasan. The research was a mix method research using a type of sequential exsplanatory design research that is dominant-less dominant. Data collection technique used test methods, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The result of the study showed that the average metacognitive skills in Galis district was in a medium category with a percentage of 52%. Student who have medium metacognitive skills were fulfilling indicator metacognitive skill in procedural knowledge, planning, comprehension monitoring, debugging strategies, and evaluation, but didn’t fully comply indicator metacognitive skill in declarative knowledge, conditional knowledge, and information management strategies.
