Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kamampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi tekanan zat ditinjau dari gender. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling yaitu purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 21 siswa kelas VIII-A SMP Negeri 1 Klampis tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Jenis penelitian ini adalah mixed methods dengan explanatory sequential mixed methods design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai siswa laki-laki adalah 76 dan rata-rata nilai siswa perempuan yaitu 70,6. Berdasarkan nilai rata-rata tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan siswa laki-laki lebih baik daripada siswa perempuan. Kata Kunci: gender, pemecahan masalah, tekanan zat.

The aim of this research was to determine students’ problem solving ability on substance pressure material in terms of gender. The subjects of this research were 21 students of class VIII-A SMP Negeri 1 Klampis in 2019/2020. The type of this research was mixed methods with explanatory sequential mixed methods design. The result of research showed that the average results of the problem solving ability test for male students were 76 and the average results of the problem solving ability test for female students were 70,6. Based on these averages, the showed that the problem solving ability of male students were better than female students. Keywords: gender, problem solving, substance pressure.
