Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kamampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi suhu dan kalor berdasarkan teori APOS. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling yaitu purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 21 siswa kelas VII-D SMP Negeri 278 Jakarta tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Jenis penelitian ini adalah mixed methods dengan explanatory sequential mixed methods design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 6 siswa berkemampuan sedang dengan kisaran persentase pemahaman konsep 56,25%-68,75% dan 15 siswa berkemampuan rendah dengan kisaran persentase pemahaman konsep 18,75%-50%. Aspek APOS yang banyak dilakukan siswa yaitu aspek aksi dan yang paling sedikit dilakukan yaitu aspek skema. Kata Kunci: pemahaman konsep, teori APOS
AbstractionThe aim of this research was to determined the ability of students to understand the concepts of temperature and heat base on APOS theory. Sampling using non-probability sampling techniques, namely purposive sampling. The subjects of this research were 21 students of class VII-D SMP Negeri 278 Jakarta in 2019/2020. The type of this research was mixed methods with explanatory sequential mixed methods design. The result of research showed that there were 6 students with moderate abilities with a range of percentage understanding concepts 56,25%-68,75% and 15 stundents with low abilities with a rnge of understanding concepts 18,75%-50%. APOS aspects that were mostly done by students were the action aspect and the least carried out were the aspect of the scheme. Keywords: concept understanding, APOS theory
