    Abstraksi

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase keterampilan berpikir kritis, tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan respons siswa terhadap prompting question yang ada di soal keterampilan berpikir kritis materi getaran, gelombang, dan bunyi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah mix method dengan desain explanatory sequential. Penelitian dilakukan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2019/2020 ditengah pandemi virus Covid-19. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP di Desa Sungonlegowo Kecamatan Bungah Kabupaten Gresik. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel sebanyak 20 siswa kelas VIII SMP diberikan soal uraian keterampilan berpikir kritis berbantuan prompting question, kemudian dipilih 6 siswa sebagai subjek wawancara terkait tes keterampilan berpikir kritis berbantuan prompting question. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Persentase keterampilan berpikir kritis tinggi sebesar 20%, kategori sedang 60%, dan kategori rendah 20%. 2) Tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa rata-rata tergolong sedang. Siswa rata-rata kurang mampu memenuhi indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis Ennis (1991). 3) Siswa dengan kategori keterampilan berpikir kritis tinggi terbantu dengan adanya prompting question. Siswa keterampilan berpikir kritis sedang dan rendah kurang terbantu dengan adanya prompting question. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Prompting Question

    Abstraction

    This study aimed to determine the percentage of critical thinking skills, the level of critical thinking skills, and students' responses to prompting questions in the critical thinking skills test of the vibration, wave, and sound material. The type of this study was mix method with an explanatory sequential design. The study was conducted in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year when the Covid-19 virus pandemic occured. The study population was VIII grade students of SMP in Sungonlegowo Village, Bungah District, Gresik Regency. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. A sample of 20 grade VIII junior high school students was given a test about critical thinking skills assisted with a prompting question, then 6 students were selected as interview subjects for the critical thinking skills assisted with a prompting question. The results showed that: 1) The percentage of high critical thinking skills was 20%, the moderate category was 60%, and the low category was 20%. 2) Most level of students critical thinking is moderate. Most students were unable to meet the Ennis (1991) indicators of critical thinking skills. 3) Students with high critical thinking skills category were helped by prompting questions. Students with moderate and low critical thinking skills category were nore really helped by prompting questions. Keywords: Critical Thinking Skills, Prompting Questions
