AbstractionAbstract The actions of plagiarism often we encounter in various times of education ranging from elementary school to college. Plagiarism can be found on several types of reports such as assignments, the report while Practicum even a thesis proposal. The actions of plagiarism can also potentially be found in the program of informatics education that is at the practicum course. After doing the practicum, students are required to make a report based on the results of the practicum performed by each student. But until now it is not known whether all the temporary reports are done without the action of plagarism therein. To overcome this problem, in this research aims to develop a web-based plagiarism detection system capable of detecting plagiarism actions such as the above example. The method of research used in this system is Waterfall method. The algorithm used to develop the system is a combination of Rabin-Karp and Levenshtein Distance algorithms where both algorithms have been recognized by some researchers are very accurate in conducting plagiarism detection. The final result of this research is a web-based plagiarism detection system capable of detecting plagiarism in PDF documents and displaying the percentage of similarity between the two documents. In system Expert validation tests, web-based plagiarism detection systems with Rabin-Karp and Levenshtein Distance algorithms received a percentage of 86%. While the test results of the user get a percentage assessment of 76% so this system can be said to be worth using. In the test algorithms Rabin-Karp and Levenshtein Distance are influenced by three parameters i.e. K-gram, base and module in the randomize the accuracy of percentage similarity between documents. The smaller the K-gram value and the base used, the accuracy of the percentage of similarity will increase. Based on the algorithm test results conducted by comparing the documents of the temporary report, the Rabin-Karp and Levenshtein Distance algorithms provide a high percentage accuracy result of 53.86%.
