ABSTRAK Abstrak: Pembelajaran drama sebagai salah satu bekal siswa menghadapi masa depan dapat dikuasai secara keseluruhan jika segala aspek tentang bermain drama dikuasai secara maksimal. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu “bagaimana pengaruh media film dokumenter terhadap kemampuan memerankan tokoh dalam naskah drama satu babak melalui metode pemodelan (modeling) pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Bangkalan tahun ajaran 2018/2019”. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh media film dokumenter melalui metode pemodelan terhadap kemampuan siswa memerankan tokoh dalam naskah drama. Film dokumenter merupakan karya cipta mengenai kenyataan yang terjadi di masa lampau yang dapat disaksikan kembali, baik secara nyata maupun diperankan oleh model. Metode pemodelan merupakan metode pembelajaran berbentuk pemberian model (contoh) berupa manusia maupun apa saja yang berhubungan dengan materi pelajaran bertujuan untuk mempermudah pemahaman siswa. Perpaduan model pembelajaran tersebut sangat cocok diaplikasikan pada pemberian materi drama. Siswa akan mendapatkan gambaran konkret segala informasi tentang tokoh yang akan diperankan. Melalui rancangan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan cara pengamatan, tes performansi, dan angket sebagai media memperoleh data. Desain penelitian berupa true eksperimental design menggunakan pretest-posttest control grub design serta simple random sampling. Teknik analisis data berupa uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji t, yang sebelumnya telah dilakukan uji instrumen terlebih dahulu. Hasilnya nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen posttest lebih besar daripada nilai posttest kelas kontrol, yaitu 86,3 dibanding 80,7. Keseluruhan dari 20 siswa, 1 siswa tidak tuntas pada kelas eksperimen dan 4 siswa tidak tuntas pada kelas kontrol. Hasil penghitungan hipotesisnyapun menunjukkan thitung > ttabel, yaitu 2,534210374 > 2,02439416. Maka Ho ditolak, artinya terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media film dokumenter terhadap kemampuan memerankan tokoh dalam naskah drama melalui metode pemodelan pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Bangkalan.
