ABSTRAK Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media ular tangga berbantukan kartu soal pada pemahaman materi majas, dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media ular tangga berbantukan kartu soal dalam keterampilan menulis puisi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori menulis puisi yang difokuskan pada materi majas. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan True Eksperimental Design dengan jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Objek yang diteliti adalah siswa kelas X di SMK Yapalis Krian. Sampel penelitian mengambil kelas X TKJ 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X TKJ 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji validitas konstruk, reliabilitasnya menggunakan rumus alpha cronbach. Setelah data yang dianalisis valid dan reliabel, kemudian dilakukan uji normalitas, dan homogenitas. Setelah data berdistribusi normal dan homogen, kemudian dilakukan uji-t. Uji-t yang digunakan adalah analisis komparatif dua sampel berkorelasi. Perhitungan uji t pada penelitian ini menghasilkan = -12,84 > nilai = 2,0484. Data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya Ho ditolak, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media ular tangga berbantukan kartu soal pada pemahaman materi majas. Selain hasil untuk materi majas, uji t untuk hasil puisi yakni = -3,2878 > nilai = 2,0484. Berdasarkan data tersebut Ho ditolak yang berarti penggunaan media ular tangga berbantukan kartu soal juga berpengaruh dalam keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas X SMK Yapalis Krian periode 2018/2019. ABSTRACT Abstract: The study purposes to find out the effects of snake and ladder with question cards in understanding the material of figurative language, and to find out the effect of Using the snake and ladder with question cards in student’s poetry writing skill. This study uses the theory of writing poetry which is focused on the material of figurative language. The research design uses True Ejsperimental Design with the research type that is used is pretest-posttest control group design. The object which is observed is the student of Class X in SMK Yapalis Krian. The sample of this research takes from Class X TKJ 1 as the experimental class and Class X TKJ 2 as the control class. This study uses the test of construct validity, its reliability uses the formula alpha cronbach. After the analysed data is valid and reliable, then it will be conducted the test of normality and homogeneity. After the data distributes normally and homogeneous, then it will be conducted the t-test. The t-test which is used in a comparative analysis of two related sample. The calculation of t test in this research produces = -12,84 > nilai = 2,048. The data can be concluded that Ho is rejected, which means that there is an effect in using the snake and ladder with question cards in understanding the material of figurative language. Another result for material of figurative language, t test for the result of poetry is = -3,2878 > nilai = 2,048. Based on the data, Ho is rejected, which means that the use of snake and ladder media with question cards also affects in Student’s poetry writing skill of Class X SMK Yapalis Krian in the period of 2018/2019.
