Gender issue which happened in daily life toward women and men is also happened in literature, where male writer dominate female writer in the past. By the time feminist movement decrease and makes female writer can compete with male writer at this time. Both of them have different characteristic in their work. The aim of this study is to find out the specialty of woman writing in the drama Venus by Suzan Lori Parks as female writer. The analysis of this study portraits the way female writer through their work related to four aspects of gynocriticism. Moreover, this study also analyzes women character created by Suzan Lori Parks through Venus Hottentot and the Mother Showman. This study is qualitative research. The method of data collections are reading, signifying and selecting, and interpret. The data are selected and matched by the writer herself. The method of data analysis in this study conducts Miles and Huberman technique. The data are reduced, display and concluded. The results of this study shows the usage of language by Suzan Lori Parks in Venus. There are four aspects of analysis (1) women’s writing and women’s body (2) women’s writing and women’s language (3) women’s writing and women’s pscyche (4) women’s writing and women’s culture. In addition, this study analyzes women characters that are portrayed by Suzan Lori Parks in Venus (1) Venus Hottentot as smart woman (2) Venus Hottentot as greedy woman (3) Venus as innocent woman (4) the Mother Showman as cruel woman.
