This study focuses on grammatical errors in the essays written by students of SMA “Al-Islam” Krian. This study aims to find and explain the types of grammatical errors produced by the students in writing text at SMA “Al-islam”. Besides, it analyzes the sources that influence the occurrence of error. This study was conducted by using qualitative research because the data were in the form of texts. The data these studies were sentences which contained error. The method of collecting data in this study was content analysis and to analyze the data, the writer used interactive model analysis. The results of the study show that there are four types of error occurred in the essays written by students of SMA “Al-Islam” Krian. They are omission (10 data), addition (9 data), misformation (8 data) and misordering (4 data). Omission was the most frequent types of error occur in the Essays Written by Students of SMA “Al-Islam” Krian. Besides, there are two sources that influence the sentences contain error.
