The objective of this study is to find out the kinds of translation shift of English adjective clause into Indonesian in The Very Best of Donald Duck comics. Besides, this study aims to figure out what translation methods that are used in translating English adjective clause into Indonesian through translation shift that occurs in The Very Best of Donald Duck comics. The theory of translation shift used in this study based on theory of J.C. Catford (1965), in which this study is conducted the kinds of translation shift analysis, The Very Best of Donald Duck comics. The methodology used in this study is qualitative descriptive method. The study is accomplished by the writer by reading and comparing the English and Indonesian adjective clause. Then the writer compared the data where translation shifts from Source Language (SL) into Target Language (TL) occurred. The data are classified according to each kinds of translation shift and the translation methods that used in translating English adjective clause into Indonesian through translation shift that occurs after the classification. The kinds of translation shift found in The Very Best of Donald Duck comics are level shift and category shift. Where in the level shift includes 2 data, while in the category shift is divided into four types: structural shift (5 data), class shift (1 data), unit/rank shift (10 data), and intra–system shift (2 data). So, the total data that have been collected in this study are 20 data. The writer also finds out the translation methods that used in translating English adjective clause into Indonesian through translation shift that occurs in The Very Best of Donald Duck comics in this study. Moreover, the writer only found several methods that used in this study, those are: faithful translation includes 13 data, literal translation that occur 3 data, semantic translation and communicative translation that have same point in 2 data in each method. Whereas, the writer not found word–of–word translation, adaptation, free translation and idiomatic translation that used in translating English adjective clause into Indonesian through translation shift that occurs in this study. This analysis is based on the theory of P. Newmark (1988), that there are eight methods of translation that are used by translator in translating adjective clause through translation shift that occurs.
