Language is a phenomenon in the world that has many variations and can change every time. Language is the most important part in social environment. People use language in their spoken and written. Both of them include in a conversation. In conversation, speaker and listener must understand what they communicate. The significance of this study is to know and analyze repair in conversation which appear in the talkshow namely, The Tonight Show. This study divided into two parts such as types of repair and factors of repair. The data of this study is The Tonight Show Talkshow script. The data has been classified according to the theory. To analyze the data, this study uses theory of Schegloff, Jefferson, and Sacks (2007:173) in Liddicoat. This study is conducted by using a qualitative research because the data are words. The data of this study contained of repair analysis. The data collection in this study obtained by using documentation method through script, recorded, and note taking technique. The writer found four types of repair; they are self-initiated self-repair (9 data), self-initiated other repair (4 data), other-initiated self-repair (5 data), and other-initiated other repair (2 data). The writer also found factors of repair; they are misheard utterances (6 data), misunderstanding (4 data), hidden motive (5 data), and unclear intention (5 data).
