This study analyzes the morphological errors in narrative text produced by the students of English Quick Course (EQC), an English course in Bangkalan. The data in this study were taken from the student’s narrative texts. The data were analyzed based on the types of morphology error proposed by James (1998) and the causes of the errors proposed by Brown (2007). The objectives of this study are to explain the types of morphology errors found in the writings of the students of EQC and to explain the causes of the errors in the students writing. This study used qualitative method, so the writer became the main instrument. In this study, document analysis was used as the data collection technique. This study found four types of morphology errors in the students’ writings. They are noun morphology errors, verb morphology errors, adverb morphology errors and adjective morphology errors; 6 data belong to noun morphology error, 32 data belong to verb morphology error, 1 datum belongs to adverb morphology error and 4 data belong to adjective morphology error. This study also found four causes of the error. They are interlingual transfer, intralingual transfer, context of learning and communication strategies; 25 errors are caused by interlingual transfer, 13 errors are caused by intralingual transfer, 1 error is caused by context of learning, and 4 errors are caused by communication strategies.
