This research titled “Women stereotypes in Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians”. The background of this study summarized by Barbara Welter in her book entitled “The Cult of True Womanhood”, namely piety, purity, submissiveness, and domestic. The first is piety explained that women must have religion. The second is purity, women must maintain their virginity until marriage. The third is submissiveness, submissiveness of women depend on men and the last domestic, women must be at home to care for their husbands and children. This study focuses on decribing women stereotypes which is potrayed in Crazy Rich Asians. This study uses qualitative research design because of the data form of word. The writer is the key instrument of the research because she is the only one who conducts the process of this study. The data of this study is the character’s utterances and the author’s narration in Crazy Rich Asians. The writer uses the technique of collecting data and the technique of analyzing data. This research finds that many women in this century are opposed to women stereotypes that have become the people’s trust. Today’s women do not care about keeping their virginity until they get married and women who have a wife prefer to work outside the home rather than doing homework. Of the four virtues, there are characters in this novel that support and fight the women stereotypes that have become a perspective society.
