S.S., M.A., Ph.D. Penelitian ini berfokus terhadap struktur kalimat, tipe struktur kalimat dan kalimat majemuk dan kalimat komplek yang digunakan di lirik lagu oleh Adele di 25 album (2015). Penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Byrd and Benson (2001) tentang tipe struktur kalimat dan teori Langan (2003) tentang kalimat majemuk dan kalimat komplek yang digunakan di lirik lagu oleh Adele di 25 album (2015). Kemudian, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif karena data yang diambil berupa kata/kalimat di dalam lirik lagu. Data tersebut di peroleh melalui analisis konten. Analisi data menunjukkan hasil dari rumusan masalah. Pertama, tipe struktur kalimat ditemukan sebanyak 79 data yang sudah di kategorikan sesuai tipenya.Tipe pertama yaitu kalimat dasar terdapat sebanyak 49 data, tipe kedua yaitu kalimat majemuk terdapat sebanyak 10 data, tipe ketiga yaitu kalimat komplek terdapat sebanyak 10 data, dan tipe keempat yaitu kalimat majemuk-komplek terdapat sebanyak 10 data. Kedua, kalimat majemuk dan kalimat komplek yang digunakan di lirik lagu oleh Adele di 25 Album (2015). Dalam rumusan masalah ini, penulis menemukan kalimat majemuk dengan subordinate dan coordinate conjunction sebanyak 9 data, kalimat majemuk dengan kata keterangan konjungtif sebanyakt 1 data. Kalimat komplek dengan klausa kata sifat sebanyak 6 data, kalimat komplek dengan klausa kata keterangan sebanyak2 data, dan kalimat komplek dengan klausa kata benda terdapat 2 data. S.S., M.A., Ph.D. This study focuses on sentence structure, types of sentence structures and how compound and complex sentence are used in Adele’s song lyrics in 25 Album (2015). This study aims to explain the theory by Byrd and Benson (2001) about the types of sentence structures and how compound and complex sentence are used in Adele’s song lyrics in 25 Album (2015). Then, this study is conducted using qualitative design because the data are words especially song lyrics. The data are collected by using content analysis. The data analysis reveals the finding covering the formulated research question. Firstly, the types of sentence structures are found 79 data as categorized of all of the types of sentence structure. The first types is simple sentence with 49 data, the second types is compound sentence with 10 data, the third is complex sentence with 10 data, and the fourth is compound-complex sentence with 10 data. Secondly, how compound and complex sentence are used in Adele’s song lyrics in 25 Album. In this case, the writer found compound sentence with subordinate and coordinate conjunction found 9 data, and compound sentence with conjunctive adverb found 1 data. Complex sentence with adjective (relative) clause found 6 data, complex sentence with adverb clause found 2 data, and complex sentence with noun clause found 2 data.
