    ABSTRACT Afiyah, Nur. 15.05.111.000.27. The Representation of France History in All The Light We Cannot See By Anthony Doerr. Thesis. English Study Program of Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Advisor : Imron Wakhid Harits, Ph. D. The aims of this study are to (1) Representation in the Novel, (2) describe the social-political condition of World War II represented in the novel. Both of History and literature are very interesting to be mixed up. Some of novels in this era still cannot move up from the aspect of history. However, the story about history has its own attractiveness for some literary connoisseurs. All The Light We Cannot See is the novel about history that is written by Anthony Doerr. This novel shows the war of World War II between German and France, two siblings of Marie Laure (France) and Von Rumple (German). The focus of study in this research is New Historicism approach. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The usage source of data is taken from novel entitled “All The Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr. The result of this study show that the novel All The Light We Cannot See have the same fact and different between real life and the story in the novel. The same fact in the Novel and in the real life such as place, and date. And the difference data such as in the Representation of Identity such as LeBlanc Family and the diamond “Sea of Flames”.
