Sistem temu kembali informasi dapat digunakan untuk memberikan alternatif berupa metode similarity yang dapat digunakan untuk melakukan pencarian teks yang relevan dengan yang kita butuhkan. Metode similarity yang digunakan adalah metode Sqrt Cosine Similarity dengan pembobotan kata menggunakan metode TF-IDF. Metode Sqrt Cosine Similarity ini bisa dimanfaatkan untuk melakukan pencarian terjemahan syarah hadits agar masyarakat tidak perlu bingung dalam memahami suatu hadits. Input query dari user diproses dalam beberapa tahap yang kemudian dilakukan pengukuran tingkat kemiripan dengan terjemahan syarah hadits berbahasa Indonesia yang tersimpan dalam database, sehingga dapat ditemukan hadits yang sesuai dengan query yang dicari. Hasil dari penelitian ini memiliki nilai rata- rata presisi sebesar 73% untuk metode sqrt cosine similarity dan untuk metode cosine similarity sebesar 79%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa metode sqrt cosine similarity memiliki penurunan presisi dari metode cosine similarity yaitu sebesar 6%.

An information retrieval system can be used to provide an alternative to the similarity method that can be used to perform text searches that are relevant to what we need. The similarity method used is the Sqrt Cosine Similarity method with Word-weighted using the TF-IDF method. The method of Sqrt Cosine Similarity can be used to conduct a translation search of hadith so that people do not need to be confused in understanding a hadith. Input query from user processed in several stages which then done measurement of the level of similarity with translation of Indonesian language hadith that stored in the database, so that the hadith can be found according to the query sought. The results of this study have a precision average value of 73% for the method sqrt cosine similarity and for cosine method similarity of 79%. This result indicates that the method of sqrt cosine similarity has a reduction in the precision of the cosine method similarity which is 6%.
