Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh, keterampilan komunikasi, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, respon siswa terhadap strategi inquiring minds want to know. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dan dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Socah Bangkalan dengan populasi semua kelas VII. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik nonprobability sampling jenis purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik angket dan lembar observasi keterampilan komunikasi, observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t sampel bebas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) ada pengaruh strategi inquiring minds want to know terhadap keterampilan komunikasi siswa dengan signifikansi pada angket posttest keterampilan komunikasi yaitu 0,042 < 0,05 dengan nilai t yaitu -t hitung ? t tabel ? t sehingga dapat dituliskan -2,119 ? 1,692 ? -2,119 dengan kategori H ditolak; (2) keterampilan komunikasi setelah diterapkan strategi inquiring minds want to know memperoleh persentase 75,687%% kategori sangat baik pada angket keterampilan komunikasi dan lembar observasi keterampilan komunikasi memperoleh persentase 77,082%% kategori sangat baik; (3) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran strategi inquiring minds want to know dengan persentase 98%; (4) respon siswa terhadap strategi inquiring minds want to know sebesar 78,2%. 0 hitung Kata kunci : inquiring minds want to know, keterampilan komunikasi, pembelajaran IPA.
AbstractionThis study aims to determine the influence, communication skill, learning activity, students response of inquiring minds want to know strategy. The study used quasi-experimental method and implemented in SMP Negeri 2 Socah Bangkalan with population of all classes VII. The sampling technique used nonprobability sampling technique of purposive sampling. Data collection using questionnaire and observation sheet technique of communication skill, observation of learning activity, questionnaires response. Data analysis technique using independent sample test. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that (1) there is influence of inquiring minds want to know strategy to communication skill of student, that is getting significance at posttest questionnaire of communication skill that is 0,042 <0,05 with value of t that -t -2,119 ? 1,692 ? -2,119 with category H 0 count ? t table ? t count so it can be written rejected; (2) communication skill after applying strategy inquiring minds want to know get the percentage 75,687% very good category at communication skill questionnaire and observation sheet get percentage of 77,082% very good category; (3) learning activity of inquiring minds want to know strategy 98% categorized very good; (4) students responses to inquiring minds want to know strategy 78,2% categorized very good.
