Abstrak: Pendidikan merupakan proses untuk mendewasakan manusia dengan berbagai cara yang dapat mengubah seseorang untuk menjadi pribadi yang lebih positif di masyarakat. Dalam pendidikan terdapat berbagai permasalahan seperti, lemahnya proses pembelajaran yang terjadi di sekolah, siswa cenderung menghafal konsep pembelajaran, dan anggapan jika nilai akademik siswa tinggi maka siswa memiliki kecerdasan tinggi pula. Begitupun yang terjadi di MTs. Negeri Bangkalan yaitu kurangnya minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran bahasa indonesia utamanya menulis surat pribadi. Dari permasalahan tersebut dapat ditarik rumusan masalah: 1) Bagaimana keterampilan menulis surat pribadi dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran examples non examples pada siswa kelas VII MTs. Negeri Bangkalan semester genap tahun pelajaran 2017/2018? 2) Bagaimankah efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran examples non examples pada siswa kelas VII MTs. Negeri Bangkalan semester genap tahun pelajaran 2017/2018? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1) mengetahui keterampilan menulis surat pribadi siswa kelas VII MTs. Negeri Bangkalan semester genap tahun pembelajaran 2017/2018; 2) mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran examples non examples untuk melatih keteramplan menulis surat pribadi siswa kelas VII MTs. Negeri Bangkalan semester genap tahun pembelajaran 2017/2018. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian true experimental design dan menggunakan control group pretest post-test. Analisis hipotesis yang digunakan yaitu rumus uji t dan uji gain ternormalisasi untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman siswa. Hasil persentase keterampilan menulis siwa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol dengan perolehan persentase rata-rata sebesar 78%. Keefektifan lebih ditunjukkan pada kelas eksperimen. Hal tersebut terlihat dari ketuntasan hasil belajar antara kedua kelas. Sebanyak 77% siswa kelas eksperimen dan 17% pada kelas kontrol, sehingga dapat dilihat bahwa nilai ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol. Hasil uji t post-test juga menunjukkan t-hitung > t-tabel dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,05. Melalui perhitungan uji t didapatkan t-hitung = 2,065 > t-tabel = 2,048 maka diputuskan Ho ditolak atau terdapat perbedaan nilai antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Persentase aktivitas guru dalam kelas eksperimen mencapai 94% di akhir pertemuan dengan kategori „sangat tinggi?. Hal yang sama juga terjadi pada aktivitas siswa dalam keterlaksanaan pembelajaran untuk kelas eksperimen yang mencapai 83% diakhir pertemuan dengan kategori „sangat tinggi?. Melalui hasil-hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran examples non examples efektif digunakan terhadap keterampilan menulis surat pribadi pada siswa kelas VII di MTs. Abstract: Education is a process for maturing humans in various ways which can change a person to become a more positive person in society. In education there are various problems such as, the weak learning process which occurs in school, students tend to memorize the concept of learning, and presumption if the academic value of students is high then students have high intelligence as well. Similarly, what happened in Bangkalan Islamic Junior High School is a lack of students' interest in learning Indonesian language, especially writing personal letters. From these problems the formulation of the problem can be drawn: 1) How to write personal letter skills using the examples non examples learning model for7th grade Bangkalan Islamic Junior High School students? even semester 2017/2018 school year? 2) How is the effectiveness of the use of examples non examples learning models for7th grade Bangkalan Islamic Junior High School students? even semester 2017/2018 school year? The purpose of this research are to: 1) know the skills of writing personal letters for7th grade Bangkalan Islamic Junior High School students? even semester 2017/2018 school year; 2) find out the effectiveness of using examples non examples learning models to train skills in writing personal letters for7th grade Bangkalan Islamic Junior High School students? even semester 2017/2018. This research is a type of quantitative research with true experimental design research design and using a control group pre-test post-test. Hypothesis analysis used is the t test formula and normalized gain test. The results of the percentage of students' writing skills in the experimental class were higher than the control class with an average percentage gain of 78%. More effectiveness is shown in the experimental class. This can be seen from the completeness of learning outcomes between the two classes. A total of 77% of students were in the experimental class and 17% were in the control class, so, it can be seen that the completeness value of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was higher than the control class. The results of the post-test t test also showed tcount> t-table with a significance level of 0.05. Through the calculation of the t test obtained t-count = 2.065> t-table = 2.048 it was decided that Ho was rejected or there were differences in values between the experimental and control classes. The percentage of teacher activity in the experimental class reached 94% at the end of the meeting with the category of 'very high'. The same thing also happened to students' activities in the implementation of learning for the experimental class which reached 83% at the end of the meeting with the category of 'very high'. Through these results it can be concluded that the examples non examples learning model is effectively used for personal letter writing skills for7th grade Bangkalan Islamic Junior High School students?.
