Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kultur sekolah dalam pendidikan karakter siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data model Milles dan Huberman. Sementara uji keabsahan data penelitian menggunakan triangulasi teknik dan sumber. Kultur sekolah merupakan keyakinan, kebiasaan-kebiasaan dan nilai-nilai yang dipegang bersama oleh warga sekolah. Kultur sekolah sendiri juga diimplentasikan melalui kegiatan rutin, kegiatan spontan, keteladanan, dan pengkondsian pada kegiatan tersebut disisipkan nilai-nilai karakter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kultur sekolah telah dilaksanakan dalam pembentukan karakter siswa. Hal ini diketahui dari beberapa temuan yaitu Pertama melalui kegiatan rutin yang secara terus-menerus dan konsisten dilakukan diantaranya tradisi salaman pagi, piket kelas, berdoa dan membaca surat-surat pendek sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran, menyanyikan lagu Indonesia Raya dan pengucapan pancasila, shalat duha dan dzuhur berjamaah, kerja bakti peduli lingkungan, upacara hari senin, dan ekstrakurikuler pramuka. Kedua, melalui kegiatan spontan diantaranya menegur siswa yang berperilaku menyimpang seperti membuang sampah sembrangan dan mengejek temannya. Ketiga, keteladan yang ditunjukkan dari sikap dan perilaku guru yang memberikan contoh karakterterhadap siswa. Keempat, melalui pengkondisian diantaranya adanya slogan-slogan budi pekerti luhur, tempat sampah, tempat parkir, seragam sekolah, tata tertib kelas. Melalui kultur sekolah tersebut terlihat nilai kerakater pada siswa yang terbentuk diantaranya karakter religius, tanggung jawab, toleransi, peduli lingkungan dan semangat kebangsaan merupakan karakter yang dominan di UPTD SDN Pejagan 1 Bangkalan. Faktor pendukung pelaksanaan kultur sekolah dalam pembentukan karakter siswa adalah kepala sekolah, guru, orang tua dan siswa. Sedangkan, faktor penghambat adalah siswa itu sendiri.
AbstractionThis study has an objective to know the school culture in student character education. This study is descriptive qualitative research that is research by describing and analyzing information based on actual facts and circumstances at the time the research conducted with observation, interview and documentation as technique of collecting data. The data analysis technique in this study uses the data analysis model of Miles and Huberman. While the data validity test of the study uses triangulation techniques and sources. School culture is the beliefs, habits and values held by the school community. School culture itself is also implemented through routine activities, spontaneous activities, example and the conditioning in these activities are inserted with character values. The results of the study show that school culture has been implemented in the formation of student character. It is known from several finding such as First, through routine activities that are continuously and consistently carried out including the morning greeting tradition, class picket, praying and reading short surahs before and after learning, singing Indonesia Raya song and reciting Pancasila, praying dhuha and dzuhur in congregation, doing environmental work caring for the environment, holding Monday ceremony and scout extracurricular. Second, through spontaneous activities including reprimanding students who behave deviant such as littering and mocking their friends, Third, the example shown by teacher’s attitudes and behavior that gives an example of character to students, Fourth, through conditioning such as the slogans of noble mind and character, rubbish bin, parking lots, school uniforms and class rules. Through those school cultures, it is seen that the character values of the students formed include religious character, responsible, tolerance, environmental caring and national spirit are the dominant characters in SDN Pejagan 1 Bangkalan. The supporting factors of the implementation of school culture in the formation of student character are the headmaster, teachers, parents, and students. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor is the students themselves.
