This study focuses on hyperbole found in song lyrics of Zayn Malik. This study aims to explain the types of hyperbole and the scale of hyperbole found in song lyrics proposed by Cladio (2011). This study employed descriptive qualitative design as the design of this study. In addition, content analysis was applied to obtain the data in which the writer became the key instrument of the study. Interactive data analysis, then, was conducted to analyze and explain the data. The data of the study were taken from the song lyrics of Zain Malik. The findings show the findings the types of hyperbole and the scale of hyperbole. In terms hyperbole types, 21 data of hyperbole are found. The data are classified into seven types of hyperboles: the single word hyperbole with 4 data, phrasal hyperbole with 10 data, clausal hyperbole with 3 data, numerical hyperbole with 1 data, comparison hyperbole with 2 data, and repetition hyperbole with 1 data, and there was no data classified as the role of superlative. 21 data show their scales. Semantics scale can be found in 3 data, pragmatics scale can be found in 13 data of and the last argumentative scale can be found in 5 data. Keywords : Hyperbole, Zayn Malik Song Lyrics
