    Abstraksi

    Dystopian novels are booming around the literature world in the last ten years. Nowadays, many readers are enjoyable and enthusiastic to read novels which have the dystopian genre. The reason why the dystopian novels attract the readers is the setting, include the time and place, which depict the technology. Thus, the writer takes the dystopian novel which is written by Victoria Aveyard, Red Queen. Because, the focus of this thesis is the representation of nature. Red Queen tells about the living of Silvers and Reds as the biggest clan in the world, however both live in the unusual places. Mare Barrow come from the Red Clan who has the poverty to reach the Silvers places. The silvers places have the better residence to live. Maree must survive in risky places to achieve her purposes. The aim of this thesis is depicting the representation of the ecology. This study uses descriptive qualitative research. By using qualitative research, the writer analyses Ecology in Young Adult Dystopian Novel Entitled “Red Queen” by Victoria Aveyard: An Ecocriticism Analysis with Ecocriticism theory. The writer of this study is collecting the data with reading, discovering and classifying the utterances between the main character and the other characters and the author’s narration which support the research question. The result of this study approves that the novel describes the dystopian representation applying Garrad’s theory of Ecocriticism. The first is eco-Marxism which is depicted the environmental crisis is caused by obeying the regulation of exploitation from humans to other humans. The second is Pastoral which is characterised showing the mode of retreat and return to the village, the existence of town and country, and the term of nostalgic feeling. The third is Wilderness which is represented by the wasteland on the Silvers’ place and Reds’ place. The fourth is Apocalypse which is described about the depiction of doomsday and the destruction of the human life and ecology around the human.
