This study focuses on code switching used by Chinese people in Candi Pamekasan Madura. This study aims to explain the types of code switching used by Chinese people by using the theory proposed by Hamers and Blanc (2000) and the factors of using code switching among Chinese people in Candi Pamekasan Madura by using the theory proposed by Holmes (2013). This study was conducted by applying a descriptive qualitative design. The key instrument was the writer herself. The data are obtained by using content analysis. The data were collected by using observation in Candi Pamekasan Madura. The writer found 16 data. The data analysis reveals the findings covering the formulated research question. Firstly, the data were classified into 3 types of code switching, those are 9 data belong to Extra-Sentential or Tag Code-Switching, 4 data belong to Inter-Sentential Code-Switching, and 3 data belong to Intra-Sentential Code-Switching used by Chinese people in Candi Pamekasan Madura. Secondly, the writer explained the factors causing Chinese people do code switching. The writer found 16 data belong to all of the factors of code switching, those are the participants, social context, the topic, and the purpose.
