    Abstract Amien, M. Misbahul. 14.05.1.1.1.00046. Cultural Crisis Identity in The Mohsin Hamid’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist: Posmodern, Thesis. English Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Advisor: Imron Wakhid Harits, S.S., Mpd., Ph.D The aims of this research are to observed diaspora life and discover cultural crisis identity of the main character in the novel The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid’s. The main character is Diaspora from Pakistan. He is alumnus from Princeton University and he work in Underwood Samson as an elite valuation firm. He thrives on the energy of New York, and also he encounter with his true love that is Erica. But in the wake of 9/11, Changez’s own identity is in seismic shift as well, unearthing allegiances more fundamental than money, power, and maybe even love. This research is classified as qualitative research. The methods of data collections were reading, labeling, and marking. Data are filtered and matched by the writer himself. The method of data analysis in this study applies Robert K. Yin’s technique. The data are compiled, disassembled, reassembled, and concluded. The result of this study has structurally discovered cultural crisis identity issues that dynamically happen within the main character life as a Diaspora. The main character feel that he lost his truly self and also consider his own identity as a fragile part of his life. There are five points of analysis. (1) Diaspora Overview, (2) Characteristic and uniqueness of Diaspora in U.S, (3) The life of Diaspora in U.S, (4) the moral and value transition of changez, (5) The lost of changez’s identity. The conflict caused Jim as president of his firm, his partner, Erica, and American people that humiliate him. Those conflict enabled cause that the main character’s crisis identity.
