Abstract: This study focuses on the portrayal of Celeste’s struggle in the novel of Liane Moriarty entitled Big Little Lies to get her freedom for a life as a wife. Celeste gets domestic violence from Perry as her husband and she is under pressure. Celeste tries to get out from the violence that has been obtain by Perry. The struggle of Celeste in get her freedom called as Liberal Feminism. This study employs qualitative study as the research design. In addition, qualitative content analysis is applied to obtain the data in which the writer becomes the key instrument of the study. Interactive data analysis is conducted to analyze and explain the data. The data of the study are taken from the author’s narration and the words from the main character in the novel. This study shows the findings of the the struggle of Celeste as a wife to get her freedom is more delicate like she is trying to against her husband when she gets pressure from him. She also goes to the fortune teller to make her mariage happy again. Keywords: Feminism, woman struggle, Liberal feminism Introduction
