This study is aimed to identify the types of deixis and the references meaning of each deixis used in the songs of Ed Sheeran . This study uses George Yule (1996) theory to analyze the types of deixis and the references meaning of each deixis used in the songs of Ed Sheeran. This study used descriptive analysis design. Words, phrases and sentence which include in deixis found in song lyrics of Photograph and Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. The main instrument in collecting, classifying, and analyzing the data was the writer himself. The method to collect the data was data collection. The method to analyze the data was content data analysis. There are 23 data of deixis found in this study. The result of this study shows three types of deixis namely Person deixis, spatial deixis and temporal deixis. The writer found 17 data personal deixis, 4 data spatial deixis and 2 data temporal deixis used in the songs of Ed Sheeran.
