This study entitled The Portrayal of Mimicry, Hybridity, and Subaltern in Adiga’s novel Last Man in Tower explains about the circumstance after being the great of the war in India gave a lot of effect and impact to both of countries which are in conflict. After being colonialism in India, Dharmen shah imitated the colonizer life style in his nation as means to get position equally with colonizer. In the other part the blending cultures happened also in India. Furthermore, the response of subaltern Masterji’s character was covered when the elite people gave bad treatment to his society. Therefore, this study is aimed to explain how mimicry, hybridity, and subaltern portrayed by the characters in this novel. In addition, the first theories of mimicry and hybridity proposed by Homi K.Bhabha and the second theory of subaltern proposed by Gayatri Spivak. All of theories are used to be underlying theory theory due to the source of data in this study which contains post – colonial phenomena. Moreover, this study is conducted using a qualitative descriptive method because (1) the data collected and analyzed are in form of words. (2) The research instrument of this study is the writer herself. After analyzing the novel, the conclusion of this study are found, they are; the representation of post colonial in adiga’s novel Last Man in Tower, Dharmen Shah’s character depicts mimicry through these ways, he was using English word and using a vehicle of western style. Then the portrayal of hybridity covered by Dharmen Shah also, he used western culture but he still held his culture in his nation. Meanwhile, the subaltern portrayed by Master Ji’s character who always get oppression from the elite people. Key Words : Post colonial, Mimicry, Hybridity, and Subaltern
