    Abstraction

    ABSTRACT This study is aimed to discuss the conflict in Victoria Averyard’s King’s Cage. The analysis of this novel uses theory of Marxism which focuses on the conflict and struggles. It also aims to explain the conflict between the Reds and Silvers kingdom to get the authority. This study was conducted by applying a qualitative research design since the data are in the form of words. The source of data of this study is a novel entitled King’s Cage. The data in this study are character utterances and author’s narration that describe about class conflict and class struggle. In analyzing the data, the writer used qualitative data analysis. In this study, the writer is the key instrument. It is because she spends many times to do the all activities such as reading the novel, collecting data, interpreting the data and creating a conclusion. The result of this study shows that there is a conflict between the Reds and the Silvers. It is started with the oppression given by the Silvers to the Reds. The oppression consists of violence and exploitation. Because of the oppression, the rebellion emerge as the effect of oppression. The Reds who do not receive the cruel treatment of the Silvers do some rebellion. Thus this leads to the political conflicts. Furthermore, the Reds and the Silvers fight to get the authority. They do some struggles through many ways to get the authority. Keyword : Marxism, conflict, oppression, struggle
