This study focuses on the last daughter’s fate that are found in Laura Esquivel’s Like Water for Chocholate as the source of data. This study explains the magical realism elements and characteristics of the last daughter’s fate which are taken from the source of data. The elements of magical realism by Wendy B. Faris which analyzed the feminine element in magical realism as the first objective of the study, especially focusing on feminism in post modernism era, then, the five characteristics of magical realism as the second objective of the study. This study uses some theories. Those are Hicks (2011), Irigaray (2004), Faris (2004). Moreover, this study is conducted by using a qualitative research from Bruce L. Berg (2001) because the data are in the form of words. The data of this study are the last daughter’s fate which is taken from the source of data. The method of collecting data in this study is reading, selecting, and coding the data which portray magical realism element and characteristics in the source of data. In the finding, the writer found 27 data from 13 cases, such as 4 cases of feminine element in magical realism they are the natural law of women and a woman should be, then 9 cases of magical realism characteristic, they are Irreducible element, phenomenal world, unsettling doubts, merging realism, and disruptions of time, space, and identity.
