    AN ANALYSIS OF ILLOCUTIONARY ACTS IN ROSI TALK SHOW ON KOMPAS TV ABSTRACT This study focuses on illocutionary acts found in Rosi talk show. This study aims to find and explain the types of illocutionary acts found in the talk show using the theory of types of illocutionary acts proposed by Searle (1976), the functions of illocutionary acts theory proposed by Leech (1983), and the contexts underlying the dominant types of illocutionary acts using the theory proposed by Crabtree and Powers (1991). This research employs qualitative descriptive as the research design. In addition, content analysis was applied to obtain the data in which the writer becomes the key instrument of the research. Interactive data analysis, then, was conducted to analyze and explain the data. The data of the research were taken from the utterances among Rosiana Silalahi as host and the guest stars in Rosi talk show episode Rosi dan Perang Bintang Pilgub Jatim. This research shows the findings of the types of illocutionary acts, the functions of illocutionary acts, and contexts underlying the dominant types of illocutionary acts occur. In terms of types of illocutionary acts, 22 data of illocutionary acts were found. The data were classified into five types of illocutionary acts: assertive (12 data), directive (2 data), commissive (4 data), expressive (4 data), and declarative (0 data). Then, in terms of functions of illocutionary acts, the data were classified into four functions: competitive (2 data of the total 22 data), convival (8 data of the total 22 data), collaborative (12 data of the total 22 data), and conflictive (0 data of the total 22 data). The dominant types of illocutionary acts was Assertive. Then, the contexts underlying the dominant types of illocutionary acts were Physical context, Epistemic context, and Linguistic context.
