ABSTRAK Komoditas Cabai Rawit merupakan komoditas yang berkontribusi tinggi dalam pertanian di Desa Banasare Kecamatan Rubaru Kabupaten Sumenep. Akan tetapi, produksi Cabai Rawit di Desa Banasare mengalami penurunan yang disebabkan oleh faktor iklim yang tidak menentu.Tujuan penelitian ini 1) menganalisis faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi produksi Cabai Rawit di Kecamatan Rubaru Desa Banasare 2) menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi ketidakefisienan dalam usahatani Cabai Rawit di Kecamatan Rubaru Desa Banasare. Metode yang digunakan berupa analisis produksi stochastic frontier yang diestimasi dengan metode maximum likelihood (MLE) dengan program komputasi frontier versi 4.1. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor produksi yang berpengaruh nyata terhadap produksi usahatani Cabai Rawit adalah luas lahan, bibit, tenaga kerja dalam keluarga, pupuk urea, pupuk kandang dan pestisida.Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi ketidakefisienan adalah pengalaman petani. Usahatani Cabai Rawit di lokasi penelitian sudah efisien dengan tingkat efisiensi teknis rata-rata sebesar 0,87 atau 87%. ABSTRACT Thai Pepper (Cabai Rawit) Commodity is a commodity that has a high contribution in agriculture in Banasare Village, Rubaru Sub-district, Sumenep Regency. However, the production of Thai Pepper in Banasare Village has decreased due to the uncertain climate factors. The aims of this study are; 1) to analyze what factors that influence to the production of Thai Pepper in Rubaru Sub-district, Banasare Village, 2) to analyze the factors that affect the inefficiency of Thai Pepper farm that located in Rubaru Sub-district, Banasare Village. The method used is stochastic frontier production analysis which has been estimated with a method that called as Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) with frontier computation program version 4.1. The result showed that the factors production that significantly affect to the production of Thai Pepper farm are the area of land, seeds, labor on family, urea fertilizer, manure, and pesticide. The factors inefficiency are farmers’ experiences. Thai Pepper farm at the research location has been efficient with the average technical efficiency level of 0.87 or 87%.
