AbstractionThis research aimed to study the influence of planting media on growth and yield of okra (Abelmoscus esculentus L). The research was conducted at the Experimental Station of Agrotechnology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Trunojoyo, Bangkalan from March to May 2018. The research was arranged on a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of two treatments, T1 (the mixture of compost with Mediterranean soil), and T2 (the mixture of compost with Grumosol). All treatments were replicated for nine times to result in 18 experimental units; each experimental unit consisting of four samples; so that totally there were 72 sample plants. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and the difference among means was analyzed by DMRT ?: 5%. Results showed that planting media gave a significant effect only on the weight of fresh fruit but not to other parameters namely plant height, number of leaves per plant, fruit length and diameter, fresh weight o stems, leaves and roots, as well as the dry weight of stem, leaf, and roots. Okra yield under T2 was higher than that under T1, which was 32.36 grams. Keywords : Okra plants (Abelmoscus esculentus L), grumusol and Mediteran Soil
