    Abstraksi

    ABSTRAK Pertumbuhan kacang bambara pada lingkungan tumbuh yang optimal dapat membentuk percabangan yang maksimal, pada gilirannya menghambat pertumbuhan polong dan perkembangannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah cabang optimum yang mengakibatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil kacang bambara paling tinggi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Program Studi Agroteknologi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Trunojoyo Madura, bulan Januari hingga Mei 2018. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok, 6 ulangan dan uji lanjut BNJD 5%. Perlakuan optimasi percabangan terdiri dari P1 (cabang optimal 80%), P2 (cabang optimal 60%), P3 (cabang optimal 50%) dan P4 (cabang optimal 40%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh nyata umur berbunga, jumlah polong dan jumlah polong cipo per tanaman, bobot polong per tanaman, bobot biji per tanaman dan bobot 100 biji. Perlakuan P3 menunjukkan jumlah percabangan yang optimal karena mengakibatkan hasil tertinggi pada rerata bobot biji per tanaman dan rerata bobot 100 biji serta memperkecil persentase jumlah polong cipo per tanaman.     Abstraction

    ABSTRACT The growth of bambara beans in an optimal environment can provide maximum branching, which in turn inhibits the growth of pods. This study aimed to determine the optimum branches for the highest growth and yield of bambara beans. Research was conducted at the Experimental Field of Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Trunojoyo Madura University, from January to May 2018. The research was arranged on Split Plot Design (SPD) consisty of four treatments namely P1 (80% branches), P2 (60% branches), P3 (50% branches) and P4 (40% branches). Data were analyzed by ANOVA and the different among means was analyzed by DMRT 5%. The results showed a significant effect on days of flowering, total of pods in plant, total of empty pods in plant, pod weight in plant, seed weight in plant and weight of 100 seeds. The treatment of P3 showed optimal results on the parameters of average seed weight per plant and average weight of 100 seeds and small empty pod number in plant.
