Penelitian ini mengkaji novel dengan menggunakan teori hipersemiotika yang merupakan turunan dari semiotika. Khususnya perwujudan tanda atau tipologi tanda. Teori ini digagas oleh seorang pemikir filsafat postrukturalisme yaitu Baudrillard. Teori ini termasuk teori baru dalam dunia kesusastraan sehingga pengkajian teks sastra yang menggunakan perwujudan tanda atau tipologi tanda sulit ditemukan. Dalam penelitian ini teks sastra yang digunakan berupa novel dengan judul “Kambing dan Hujan” karya Mahfud Ikhwan. Pada dasarnya, novel “Kambing dan Hujan” ini lebih sesuai dikaji dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Namun, penelitian ini mencoba melihat novel tersebut dengan perspektif yang berbeda yakni tipologi tanda Baudrillard. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan ekspresif yang ditujukan untuk menggambarkan atau memaparkan potret batin pengarang mengenai ideologi Islam yang terbentuk pada jenis tipologi tanda Baudrillard dalam novel “Kambing dan Hujan”. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan “teknik pustaka” yaitu mengumpulkan data yang berbentuk teks tulis dalam novel “Kambing dan Hujan”, dan teknik catat dilakukan untuk proses pencatatan data penelitian ke dalam korpus data. Selanjutnya teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan tiga tahap yakni mereduksi data dengan menginterpretasikan tanda menggunakan metode hermeneutik Ricoeur, kemudian data disajikan dalam bentuk tabel data berdasarkan jenis tipologi tanda Baudrillard, dan penarikan kesimpulan dari hasil analisis. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi teori. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan empat tipologi tanda Baudrillard yaitu tanda sebenarnya, tanda palsu, tanda dusta, dan tanda daur ulang dalam novel tersebut.

This study examines novels by using hypersemiotic theory which is derived from semiotics especially in the case of the embodiment sign or typology of signs. This theory was conceived by a philosopher of post-structuralism philosophy by Baudrillard. This theory includes a new theory in the world of literature that the examination of literary texts in the case of the embodiment of signs or typology of signs ishard to find. In this study,the data areliterary text which used in the novel entitled “Goats andRain” by Mahfud Ikhwan. Basically, the novel “Goats andRain” is more suitable to become the object of this study, especially in using the sociological approach of literature. However, this study attempts to deep understand the messages at the novel with a different perspective of Baudrillard's sign typology. This study uses an expressive approach which aimed at describing or exposing the feelings of the author on the Islamic ideology based on the type of Baudrillard typology in the novel “Goats andRain”. In this study, the writer used the method data collection “teknik pustaka” that collect the data in the written form in the novel “Goats andRain”. After the writer finished to collect the data, the writer rewritesthe data intothe corpus. Furthermore, the writeranalyzed the data using three stages. The first, data reduction by interpreting the sign using hermeneutic method Ricoeur. The second, the data presented in thetable based on Baudrillard sign typology type. The third, the writer draw and concludethe result of this study. The validity of data is done by triangulation theory. Based on the results of this study, the writer found four typologies of Baudrillard signs which are actual signs, false signs, signs of lies, and signs of recycling in the novel.
