Abstrak Nilai Pendidikan karakter merupakan salah satu usaha yang di tujukan untuk memenuhi tujuan pendidikan nasional dalam mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini ialah 1) Apa saja nilai-nilai karakter yang terdapat dalam cerita pendek koran Jawa pos edisi Februari - Maret 2017, 2) Bagaimana nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam cerita pendek koran Jawa pos edisi Februari Maret 2017. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan adanya relevansi nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam cerpen koran Jawa pos edisi Februari – Maret 2017. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari deskripsi 18 nilai pendidikan karakter oleh Kemendikbud RI. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah yaitu dengan menggunakan penekatan kualitatif, teknik analisis isi (content of Amalyze). Adapun sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah tujuh cerita pendek Jawa pos edisi Februari – Maret 2017. Tujuh cerpen tersebut yaitu: 1) “Kekayi” oleh Oka Rusmini; 2) “Sebelas Orang Gila di Kotaku” oleh Raudal Tanjung Banua; 3) “Relikui Ibu” oleh Mashdar Zainal; 4)“Tentang Truly dan Aroma-Aroma” oleh Yuliana Trihanigsih; 5) “Hidung” oleh Ahmadun Yosi Herfanda; 6) “Teror” oleh Ilham Q. Moehiddin; 7) “Perempuan yang Memikul Dendam” oleh A.S. Laksana. Adapun Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan adanya beberapa nilai pendidikan karakter yaitu: 1) religius; mengagumi ciptaan Tuhan, rasa syukur, perasaan batin, takut, hubungan antara manusia dengan tuhan. 2) jujur; berterus terang dalam berpendapat. 3) toleransi; menghargai pendapat orang lain, tidak melakukan perpecahan. 4) disiplin; tertib, rutin, berkesinambungan. 5) kerja keras; berusaha, bersungguh-sungguh. 6) kreatif; melakukan hal baru, bernilai cipta, unik. 7) Mandiri; bekerja sendiri, tidak bergantung pada orang lain. 8) demokratis; pemerintahan, kepemimpinan. 9) rasa ingin tahu; menanyakan, merenungkan, berpikir. 10) cinta tanah air; bahasa nasional, bahasa daerah. 11) menghargai prestasi; relevansi, pujian. 11) bersahabat/komunikatif; menyenangkan, memahami. 13) gemar membaca; memfasilitasi, menyukai bacaan. 14) peduli lingkungan; menjaga, melestarikan. 14) peduli sosial; saling membantu, tolong menolong. dan 16) tanggung jawab. Kemudian dari pembahasan tersebut hanya dua nilai pendidikan karakter yang tidak terdapat dalam cerpen koran Jawa pos edisi Februari – Maret 2017 yaitu cinta damar, dan semangat kebangsaan. Abstract The value of character education is one of the businesses that go on to fulfill the purpose of national education in the intellectual life of the nation. One of formulation of the problem in this study is 1) what are the values of the characters featured in the short story the newspaper Jawa pos weekly edition of February-March 2017, 2) How do values education characters featured in the short story the weekly newspaper Jawa pos is the February March 2017. The existence of this research expected the presence of relevance values character education in the Jawa pos newspaper short story the February-March 2017. The theory uses in this study are derived from the description of 18 values character education by Kemendikbud RI. The methods uses in this research is the use of qualitative analysis techniques, Focus on content (content of Amalyze). As for the source of the data in this study are seven short stories Downloads in Java Edition February-March 2017. The seven short stories, namely: 1) "kekayi" by Oka Rusmini; 2) "eleven people crazy in my town" by Raudal Cape Banua; 3) "Relics of mother" by Mashdar Zainal; 4) "the Truly and Aroma-Scent" by Yuliana Trihanigsih; 5) "nose" by Ahmadun Yosi Herfanda; 6) "terror" by q. Moehiddin; 7) "women who Bear a grudge" by A.S. Executables. As for the results of the study suggest the existence of some value of character education are: 1) the religious; admire the creations of God, gratitude, inner feelings, fear, the relationship between man and God. 2) honest; come clean in the opinion. 3) tolerance; appreciate the opinions of others, don't do the split. 4) discipline; orderly, regular, ongoing basis. 5) hard work; trying, seriously. 6 creative); doing new things, valuable, unique. 7) Independently; working alone, do not rely on others. 8 democratic); governance, leadership. 9) curiosity; ask, ponder, think. 10) love the motherland; the national language, the language of the region. 11) appreciates the achievements; relevance, praise. friendly communicative/11); fun, understanding. 13) an avid reader; facilitate, love readings. 14) care for the environment; keep, preserve. 14) social care; help each other, helpfullness. and 16) responsibilities. Then the discussion of only two values character education that is not contained in the Jawa pos newspaper short story the February-March 2017 i.e. love of resin, and the spirit of nationhood.
