Penerapan metode pembelajaran yang tepat merupakan hal yang harus dipertimbangkan oleh pengajar, agar tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah “pengaruh media gambar peristiwa terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kamal Kabupaten Bangkalan” dan “hasil belajar setelah pembelajaran menggunakan media gambar peristiwa terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kamal Kabupaten Bangkalan”. Jenis penelitian ini adalah True Eksperimental Design. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah media gambar peristiwa dan keterampilan menulis puisi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kamal Kabupaten Bangkalan. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII-H dan VIII-I yang dipilih secara acak. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi keterlaksanaan, tes keterampilan menulis, dan angket respons. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Hasil uji signifikansi (uji-t) menunjukkan bahwa thitung sebesar 6,79 lebih besar dari ttabel 2,042 pada taraf signifikansi ? = 0,05. Artinya terdapat pengaruh media gambar peristiwa terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kamal Kabupaten Bangkalan. (2) Hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan media gambar peristiwa memperoleh rata-rata sebesar 0,46 pada kelas eksperimen dan 0,30 pada kelas kontrol. Artinya terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar menggunakan media gambar peristiwa dan tidak menggunakan media gambar peristiwa di kelas VIII SMPN 1 Kamal Kabupaten Bangkalan. Applying the proper learning method is the thing that must be considered by the teacher, so that the learning objectives can be achieved. The research problems in this research are “The Influence of Media Pictures EventToward Writing Poetry Ability on Students VIII Class SMP Negeri 1 Kamal Bangkalan District” and “the result of study learning after using media pictures of event on writing poetry skill VIII class SMP Negeri 1 Kamal District Bangkalan”. Type of this research is true experimental design. The variable in this research is the media pictures of event and writing poetry skill. The population in this research is VIII class SMP Negeri 1 Kamal District Bangkalan. The sample of the research is the students of VIII-H and VIII-I class which selected random. Technique of collecting data is observation of the implementation writing skill test and the questionnaire responds. The results of this research shows that: (1) The results of significant test (t-test) showed that tcount of 6,79 is more than ttable 2.042 on significant level a 0,05. It means that there is influence of media pictures of event on writing poetry skill to the students of VIII class SMP Negeri 1 Kamal District Bangkalan. (2)The result of students learning after using media pictures of event showed that obtained an average of 0.46 belongs to the experimental class and 0.30 belongs to the control class. It means that there is differences learning outcomes using the media pictures of event and does not using the media pictures of event in VIII class SMPN 1 Kamal District Bangkalan.
