Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi motivasi belajar siswa dan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran Role Playing dalam melatih sikap percaya diri siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa yang memiliki motivasi yang rendah, sedang, dan tinggi serta siswa yang memiliki sikap tidak percaya diri. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu motivasi belajar siswa kelas III SDN Buddan 1 sangat tinggi, faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi motivasi siswa yaitu, cita-cita siswa, kemampuan siswa, kondisi siswa, kondisi lingkungan siswa dan pendekatan guru dalam pembelajaran. Penerapan model pembelajaran Role Playing dapat melatih sikap percaya diri siswa, karena dalam penerapan model pembelajaran Role Playing siswa terlibat aktif di dalamnya. Selain itu, siswa juga mendapatkan kesempatan yang sama untuk tampil di depan kelas. Dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Role Playing kekuatan mental siswa akan terlatih dan siswa akan terbiasa dengan keadaan tampil di depan umum ataupun mengungkapkan pendapat di depan umum. AbstractionThis research was conducted to find out the factors which can influence student's learning motivation and to know the application of Role Playing learning model to training students' self-Esteem. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this Research were students who have low, moderate, high motivation and students who were not have a self-esteem. The technique of collecting Data was done by interview, observation, and documentation. The result of this research shows that the student’s learning motivation of third grade at SDN Buddan 1 was very high, the factors which can influence student's motivation were student's goals, student's ability, the condition of student, student environment condition and teacher's approach in learning. The implementation of Role Playing learning model can train student’s self-esteem, because in the application of learning model of Role Playing, students were actively involved in it. In addition, students also got the same opportunity to appear in front of the class. By applying the Role Playing learning model, the student’s mental will be trained and student will be habitual to the public appearance or to argue an opinion in public forum.
