ABSTRACT Lestari, D. A. 130511100133. A Study of Subordinate Clause in Teens’ Crossroads Magazine. Thesis. English Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciencies. Univesity of Trunojoyo Madura. Advisor: Misnadin, S.S., M.A., Ph. D This study is intended to answer two research questions; what are the types of subordinate clauses and the most frequently type of subordinate clause found in Teens’ Crossroad magazine and how can properties of subordinate clauses be explained in Teens’ Crossroad magazine by Miller’s theory. This study is chosen because it has never been conducted by English Study Program Students of Trunojoyo Madura University. It is proved by no thesis about this study is published in this Study Program. This study is conducted by using qualitative research design. The research instrument of this study is the writer herself. The data of this study are subordinate clauses in Teens’ Crossroad magazine. Besides, the data of this study are collected by using observation through note-taking technique. There are 50 data found in this study. They belong to three types of subordinate clauses. They are complement clauses (15 data), relative clauses (17 data), and adverbial clauses (18 data). There is one property of subordinate clause. It is complementisers (50 data).
