Abstract This study aims to explain the assimilation’s phenomenon that exist in the rapid speech of International Horse Racing Championship. The writer uses qualitative design. The videos of “International Horse Racing Championship” are the source of data. There are four videos of “International Horse Racing Championship”. They are Dubai World Cup 2013, Judmontee International Stakes Australia Race 2014, Race Dubai World Cup 2015, and Judmontee International Postpone 2016.The data of this study are the words or sentences of commentators’ that are included in the assimilation. The findings of this research show 38 forms of assimilation based on the degree of similarity between the assimilator and the assimilant . Those are 27 data belong to full assimilation and 11 data belong to partial assimilation. In addition, 20 data belong to progressive assimilation, 11 data belong to regressive assimilation and 7 data belong to double assimilation.
