    ABSTRACT Inayah, S.H. 13.05.111.00128. A Study of Phonological Processes In Madurese Found In Pojok Madura news. Thesis. English Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, Trunojoyo University. Advisor : Misnadin, S.S., MA., Ph.D This study focuses on the phonological processes found in Pojok Madura news. This study focuses to identify the categories of phonological processes found in Pojok Madura news and to identify the types of syllable structure where phonological processes occur. This study was conducted by using a qualitative research. The data of this study were taken from Pojok Madura news. The method of data collection was content analysis. It has several steps: the first step was downloading and listening; the second step was taking a notes; the third step was classifying and the last step was making several codes. The method of analyzing data is containing data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. In the finding, the writer found 30 data in Pojok Madura news. The data was classified into three categories. For epenthesis, 4 data belong to glottal insertion, 3 data belong to j-epenthesis and 3 data belong to glide epenthesis. For gemination, 7 data belong to gemination of adding suffix –na and 9 data belong to gemination of adding suffix –aghi. For deletion, 4 data belong to open syllable that has three syllables or more. The phonological processes occurs in the following syllable structure. For epenthesis, 3 data belong to VC pattern, 6 data belong CVC pattern and 1 data belong to CCVC pattern. For gemination, 2 data belong to VC pattern and 14 data belong to CVC pattern. For deletion 4 data belong to CCV pattern.
