ABSTRACT The aims of this study was to explain about types and functions of illocutionary act in Kingsman: The Secret Service Movie. There are two significances in this study those are; theoretically and practically. The scope of this study is Pragmatics, which focused on illocutionary act This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative design. The writer chooses the movie Kingsman; The Secret Service as the source of the data and the data is the conversation of the movie. The data was analyzed and classified based on types of illocutionary act proposed by Searle (1983) and functions of illocutionary act proposed by leech (1983). This study used content-analysis method as the method of data collection. This study used interactive data analysis model as the method of analyzing data. In this study, the writer found 4 types of illocutionary act those are; representative or assertive (3 data), expressive (9 data), directive (7 data) and commissive (8 data). Furthermore, the functions of illocutionary act which have be found in this study has 5 functions those are; collaborative (5 data), convivial (6 data), competitive (11 data) and conflictive (3 data).
