Adivsor : Iqbal Nurul Azhar, S.S.,M.Hum This study focuses on the irony that is found in meme of women in lols heaven website. This study aims to explain the types of irony which are taken from meme of women in lols heaven website. It also aims to explain why irony happend in the data. In addition to analyze the data, this study uses some theories, such as Perrine (1988) and Brannon (2004). Moreover this study is conducted by using a qualitative research because the data are in the form of words and pictures. The data of this study are taken from lols heaven website. The method of collecting the data in this study is conducted by using content analysis. In the finding, the writer found 30 data. The writer found three types of irony, 15 data which are included into verbal irony, 6 data are included into dramatic irony and 9 data that are included into situational irony. The writer also found 2 factors that cause the irony appeared. Those are gender stereotype (4 data) and gender role (26 data).
