English Study Program of Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Advisor: Prof.Dr.Suryo Tri Saksono M.Pd. This study analyzes the behavioral changing of the main character, Allyson in Gayle Forman’s Just One Day. Her changing is interesting to be analyzed. Allyson is eighteen years old. She is an obedient girl. She never does anything on her own will but she does anything what everyone told her. Her life is exactly like her suitcase-packed, planned, and ordered. Allyson’s behavioral changing happens after she interacts Willem in her study tour, Europa. The focus of this study is about Allyson’s behavioral changing which caused by her interaction. She finds her real character through the changing. Hence, social interaction theory by George Simmel is used as a tool to analyze this novel. Because this study is qualitative, the writer is the key instrument and the data is described in the form of words. Consequently, main character’s utterances are used to reveal the elaboration of main character’s changing. Hence, the data collection has been done simultaneously with the data analysis. After the study has been done, it uncovers Allyson’s interaction which consists of two basic conditions of social interaction, they are: (1) social contact is the beginning point of social interaction because it will refer to a communication when a response was given by each others who involves inside. (2) communication becomes the second point of social interaction because it will never be established if a communication does not fill inside. Then, this study also reveals Allyson’s behavioral changing which caused by suggestion as the factor of social interaction process. Therefore, interpersonal conflict also happens among Allyson and mother as the effect of Allyson’s behavioral changing. Keywords: social interaction, sociology of literature, behaviorism.
