This study foccuses on the types and features of dispreferred responses employed by all the characters in Diary of Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules movie. This study aims to explain dispreferred response types found in the Diary of Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules movie. In addition, to analyze the data, this study used theory proposed by Yule (1996) for types and Glaser (2009) for fetures. Moreover, this study is conducting by applying a qualitative research design since the data are in the form of words. The data of this study are utterances of all the characters in Diary of Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules movie which contain dispreferred responses. The data are collected by using content analysis method.In the finding, the witer found 22 data for the types and features of Dispreferred response. (4 data) which are included into disagree for assesment, (2 data) which are included into refuse for invitation, (5data) which are included into decline for offer, (3 data) which are included into disagree for proposal, and (8 data) which are include into refuse for request. The writer also found of features of Dispreferred Response, they are token agreement (2 data), hedges (4 data), modal [removed]3 data), suprasegmental mitigation (1 data), request for clarification (1 data), Repitition of the speaker’s words (1 data), providing reason and explanation (1 data), expression of regret (1 data), positive remarks.
