This study focuses on sarcasm especially on the types of sarcasm and the strategies of sarcasm in the movies entitled Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers. The sources of data of this study are Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers movies. This study aims to explain the types and the strategies of sarcasm uttered by the characters in Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers movies. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative design. The research instrument of this study was the writer herself. The data of this study were collected by using content analysis. This study used interactive data analysis method to analyze the data of this study. In the findings, the writer finds 17 data that can be categorized based on the types and the strategies of sarcasm in Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers movies. The writer finds four types of sarcasm, those are; propositional sarcasm (5 data), lexical sarcasm (6 data), ‘like’ prefixed sarcasm (2 data), and illocutionary sarcasm (4 data). This study also finds 5 strategies of sarcasm, those are; the choices of language (5), 1 quote (1 data), repetition of fresh talk (2 data), evidential (1 data), markers of quotation (8 data).
