The research was concerned with Cooperative Principle in the Angry Birds movie. This study is intended to describe the types of maxims do the characters in the Angry Birds movie flout and to describe the types of maxims do the characters in the Angry Birds movie violate. The researcher used Grice’s (1975) theory as the basis of the analysis of the study. The researcher employed a qualitative approach. The source of data is a movie entitled The Angry Birds. The data are some utterances of flouting and violating of maxims. The technique of collecting data is content analysis. In analyzing the data used interactive model analysis. The data analysis reveals the findings which cover the formulated research questions. Firstly, the types of flouting maxims. The researcher found 12 data that belong to flouting maxims. They are flouting of maxim of relation (6), flouting of maxim of quantity (4), flouting of maxim of manner (2), and flouting of maxim of quality (0). Secondly, the types of violating maxims. The researcher found 25 data that belong to violating maxims. They are violating of maxim of relation (11), violating of maxim of quantity (3), violating of maxim of manner (5), and violating of maxim of quality (6). Maxim of relation is mostly violated in the movie because the characters deliberately try to deceive and to mislead the hearer.
