    Abstraction

    This study is focused on sociolinguistics especially jargon phenomenom. This study analyzes the types and the functions of jargon used by 1CAK users. The purposes are to explain the types of jargon and the function of jargon in 1CAK. The data are analyzed and classified based on the types of jargon proposed by Halligan (2004) and functions of jargon by Ives (1999). The writer used descriptive qualitative design. The writer took the data from 1cak website. This study is obsevation research. The data are text on pictures or some comment that contain jargon that users posted in 1CAK and any information related to the statement of the research problems. The writer used interactive model analysis to analyze the data. Based on the study, the writer found 40 jargons in 1CAK. There are 4 types of jargon in 1CAK, they are Abreviation (2 data), Acronym (2 data), Phrase (3 data) and word (24 data). There are 3 functions of jargon in 1CAK, jargon can give a person or a member a sense of belonging to a group (all the data), jargon can make it easier way for another to have communication with their friend or other members (all the data), jargon is an effective thing as signals for identification (all the data).
