This study investigates of epenthesis in Maduressecomedy by Sukur CS. The aims of this study are to explain the types of epenthesis in Maduresse and why the data become epenthetic sound. To conduct this study the writer uses descriptive qualitative method. This study explains the types of epenthesis and the factors that cause the epenthesis of a segment in words. To obtain the manageable and systematic data, the writer herself becomes the primary instrument by watching and listening tothe video carefully,to get authentic, deep understanding, analyzing, and classifying the data. Then the data are presented and analyzed by using phonological rule of epenthesis proposed by Campbell (1998) and Iyiola (2015). In the findings, the writer found 60 data. The writer found three types of four types of epenthesis,named; 51 data belong to excrescence type, 4 data belong to prosthesis type, and 5 data belong to paragoge type. The writer also categorized the data into three factors that cause the words to be epenthetic sound, those are poetic device (1 data), grammatical rule (46 data), and borrowing words (13 data).
