The aims of the study are to investigate the types of grammatical and lexical cohesion used in Elle Magazine’s articles and how each devices contributes to the cohesion in the text found in Elle Magazine’s articles. This study uses Haliday and Hasan’s (1976) theory. This study uses descriptive qualitative design. The source of data is Elle Magazine’s articles. Elle magazine consists of ten articles; those are style, relation, radar, career, escape, celebrity, travel, life, beauty and fashion. The data are the words, phrases, clauses and sentences found in Elle Magazine’s articles. The main instrument in collecting, classifying, and analyzing the data is the writer herself. The method data collection is content analysis. The findings of this study show that all types of grammatical cohesion i.e reference, substitution, ellipsis and conjunction are utilized in Elle Magazine’s articles. While the lexical cohesion devices are reiteration and collocation. The writer found 37 data. From the 37 data collected, 29 data belong to grammatical cohesion and 8 data belong to lexical cohesion. The 29 data that belong to grammatical cohesion can be further classified as follows; 15 data belong to reference, 1 data belongs to substitution, 2 data belong to ellipsis, and 11 data belong to conjunction. The 8 data that belong to lexical cohesion can be further classified as follows; 6 data belong to reiteration and 2 data belong to collocation. This study also elaborates the grammatical and lexical cohesive devices and their contribution to the text cohesion. Key Words: Discourse, Cohesion Devices, Elle Magazine, and Articles.
