  • A Study of associative Meaning in The New York Times

    Abstraksi

    This study focused on associative meaning in The New York Times. This study discussed types of associative meaning and frequently for each types of associative meaning used in The New York Times. This study was conducted by using a qualitative research. The source of data is online newspaper The New York Times on World section on May 25 -16, 2017. The writer found four types of associative meaning. They are affective meaning (8 data) with 32% of percentage, collocative meaning (5 data) with 20% of percentage, reflective meaning (7 data) with 28% of percentage and connotative meaning (5 data) with 20% of percentage. Besides, the writer also found the frequently appeared type of meaning in The New York Times is affective meaning. Keywords: Associative meaning, Types of associative meaning, The New York Times.
