    Abstraksi

    This study entitled “Motherly Love in Queen of Dreams by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.Thetopic of this study is motherly lovethat is given by a mother that is Mrs.Grupta to her child such as giving care and giving education, and the influence that appear in the child’s life due to the mother’s love, namely spirit of life, independent, generous, and creativity. Those situations are also shown in a novel by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni entitled Queen of Dreams. Therefore, this study is focused on the dialogues and narration that reflect Mrs.Grupta’s love for her child with sincere. This study finds that there are four types of love given by mother such as giving care, giving education, giving motivation and worrying .Then, Mrs.Grupta as a mother, can arouse spirit of life , independence, generous, and creativity of her child. Keywords: love, independent, generous and creativity.
